Are Wenzel brand tents decent? Do they hold up to wind and rain?

I am looking for a good inexpensive tent, I cannot afford more than $150 right now. I know that colemans are very popular but I cant find much info on wenzels. The one I really like is a dome shape with a screen room on the front. I olny want it for car camping, I already have a good backpacking tent.

nice low end brand

We have 2 of them and they only ran about 100 bucks. They are dome tents and do pretty good in the wind. Not Everest type wind but normal car camping type weather.

Wenzel’s are just fine – the company has been around a really long time. I had one for years and it held up great!

Try looking at a few Nylon Dome tents from Sears,,,,they are inexpensive and are very good quality. I have a 9×9 that I bought 25 years ago,,,,,still use it every year..been in torrential thunderstorms ,,,never leaked. Wenzel’s are good also,,just make sure it comes with a rainfly.
