Taking a camping trip to Denali, Alaska in July. What would an ideal tent be for such a trip? (Preferably those that are 3-season, backpacking, 2 person and not outrageously expensive.)

What exactly does it mean to go backpacking through a country/continent?

Does it legit mean that you have a backpack and you walk all throughout the country and sleep in tents and stuff? What does it really mean? Has anyone ever gone "backpacking" what did you do?

i went to spain and had my suitcase with me and took the train everywhere from the moment i stepped foot off the plane. took the train for hours to northern spain, and for hours to southern spain and for hours to the coast, etc. does that count as backpacking.?

backpacking normally means taking a backpack and having everything you need in that one backpack – as it’s the easiest way of carrying anything you need for a journey.

backpackers are normally on a budget and therefore stay in hostels and really cheap hotels – there are hostels that are for backpackers so that people can meet up and make new friends etc, esp if they are travelling alone.

backpacking is normally referred to a longer journey than a standard holiday (so a month plus) and mostly – but not always – refers to travelling to a few different countries.

sounds like you just had a holiday.

where can I buy cheap backpacking equipment?

I’m going to the south pacific and southeast asia, and I do not have any equipment. Where can I get a cheap but good-quality backpack, sleeping bag, tent, and other camping and traveling gear. VERY LOW BUDGET!

For a really low-budget and lightweight backpacking stove, build yourself a Pepsi-can alcohol stove.

If you’ll be camping in warm weather, it will be lighter and probably more comfortable to get a lightweight net hammock, bug screen, and rain fly instead of dragging around a tent.

Great deals on backpacking equipment can also be found at Goodwill and other thrift stores, garage sales, etc.

Another option is to borrow gear from friends. I’ve let several friends borrow a backpack for travels to distant lands.

How much money do you need and what to prepare for backpacking on foot per years?

Is the money brought in cash or in credit card? but some rural countries might not accept it. Do you sleep in motel or tents? Do you eat cooked food or take away? Where can I find more info on backpacking?

Take both cash and credit card.

Wenzel Starlite Tent Reveiw

This is my Wenzel Starlite 3- season 1 man backpaking tent. It is made of 1.9 oz uerethane coated 600mm polyester. Which makes it very light weight. It features a zippered entrance with no-see-um mesh screen and a small no-see–um mesh screen at the foot for added ventalation. I have used this tent several times while backpacking and have been pleased so far. This is more of a begginer or low-budget backpackers tent. I found it on Amazon last year for about $20.00.

What is a good backpacking place?

My friend and I are wanting to go on a three day backpacking trip with the full extent of tents, bags, food, and all. We live in southern indiana and were wondering a good place within around 3 or 4 hours that has great scenery. Any suggestions would be nice.
