What is an ice box in a pop up tent trailor. Is this another name for fridge or is it different?

An ice box looks like a small refrigerator, but doesn’t have any cooling coils or compressor. Kind of like a portable ice chest, only built in to the camper. It uses a big block of ice to keep your food cool for several days.

What are the best brands of tents you can buy? Preferably those that are 3-season, two person?

Taking a camping trip to Denali, Alaska in July. What would an ideal tent be for such a trip? (Preferably those that are 3-season, backpacking, 2 person and not outrageously expensive.)

Truck Tents for Toyota Hilux?

I am interested in getting a Toyota Hilux in the future as I’m an outdoor photographer and the pick-up truck best suits my needs. I want to get a tent back for it (useful for photographing landscapes and animals in the rain!), but I can’t seem to find any tent backs that fit the bed of the Hilux. The only ones I can find when doing a Google search are for the Tacoma and the Tundra, and I’m wondering if one of those is actually an alternative name for the Hilux? Does anyone know about this?

Also, a lot of these Tundra and Tacoma backs seem to come from the US, and I don’t really want to be paying for all that shipping. Can anyone recommend a stockist from the UK that sells Hilux-fitting truck tents?

Price of dressage girths?

So I’m looking at buying a new dressage girth, and I was wondering what a decent price was. I’m getting it from the Dover tent sale in a couple of weeks, and I wanted to make sure I picked out the best one I could buy for a reasonable price. Thanks so much!!!!

Totally depends on the girth. They can range from $20 to $300 depending on what you buy. I would say that for the most part, a reasonable price is $50-100 for a decent girth.

I need a good 2-person Backpacking tent.?

I want a tent to weigh less then 4.8 pounds. I need one not to collect condensation. And easy setup. I am willing to pay $250, but i would prefer $150.

I would prefer free but what can you do. Anyway going ultra light is going to cost you as only the higher end tents are getting the weight down into that ball park. The REI quarter dome is a very popular and well made tent. Comes in at $270 us. Quite often you can get these at reduced prices when REI sells off the rental equipment. That’s how I got mine paid $70. for it.

The Eureka Zeus comes in at $160.us but doesn’t breath as well and the floor is too thin

What kind of food would be good to take on a biking/hiking trip in 80 degree weather?

A couple of friends and I are planning a three day bike trip. Every night we would pitch a tent. What would be some good food that we could take and it would still be alright to eat after being left in a back pack in almost 80 degree weather?

I would think that your best bet is to take things like granola bars/cereal bars and definitely lots of water. Trail mix would be another great choice, full of lots of nuts, raisins and other dried fruit.

Tunnel or dome tent? Which is stronger?

For a large tent (8-10 people), which is stronger – a taller tunnel design, or a dome design?

Dome

Think about how the force of a strong wind would hit it. In most cases domes deflect wind well however a tunnel would have weak parts vulnerable to the wind

And dont buy cheap or chinese it you want it to last for more than one occasion!

What is the best lake to go tent camping in arizona in the SUMMER?

Looking to go tent camping in mid June here in AZ, but don’t want to fry! Any good higher altitude lakes to check out that will have nice (sub 100 degrees) weather for a bunch of guys and a boat?

you should try upper mary lake and ashurst lake. not sure where at in arizona your going but these lakes are fairly close to flagstaff.. and thats a fun place to go. if you go to these lakes i highly recommend going to sunset crater volcano national monument. its pretty sweet cause all the sand is black. but yea have fun this summer.. don’t forget sunscreen
