I have a friend that bought a Sportz III pickup tent. He had that thing for about 1 week and then sold it. He hated it. He has a Ford F150 and decided to just go and buy a secondhand pull behind trailer and loves it. I asked him why he didn't like his pickup tent and he said the darn thing leaked on him (and it was a light rain). I would suggest just buying a nice 4 person tent for yourself. They are cheaper, easier to setup, and you can use it for everyday camping.

I'm with you. I would love to have a vehicle with a DVD player (for the kids), a lot of space and comfort (RV) and good gas mileage. I guess you have to sacrifice one thing for another though :(
References :
If your thinking of a new vehicle look at vans. you can pull your trailer and never get into it. Find a walmart and park. People sleep in parking lots all the time. I have used and still do. A camper shell to camp out of or just a place to sleep on a long trip. (Walmart ). I wish I had a trailer. The back of my truck gets full fast.

Look up "Toy Haulers"
You'll loose your mind on what you find. I got one and I LOVE IT.
Nothing to set up. Just pull over, get in your trailer, and snooze.
References :
That's just a fad if you ask me. Why not just get a tent that doesn't have to be attached to your truck?

Why not get an suv with removable seats or truck with topper and sleep in the back? Hot though...
